I've seen a lot of recent posts about strange mod posts to communities that when clicked on, take you to a Russian site that either downloads a keystroke logger or finds some other way to attempt to hack your account.

So, here's a condensed version of some steps you can take to make your account more secure against hackers...

I'm the due South reccer over at crack_van this month and I want to take a moment to remind you that it's hard to recommend something you can't find.

I know that most of us are here to write but part of the joy of writing is sharing your writing with others.

Several people on my flist have no method for readers to find and read their fics. No master list, no tags, no memories, no fic journal, no website, nothing.

And I'm not talking about catwalksalone, because she has all of that! Memories AND tags AND master list AND a website. Which is a perfect excuse to go read her wonderful stuff. *shoos you towards catwalksalone*

If I wanted to browse through your oeuvre and pick the best story that you've written to recommend, how would I do that? If I saw a story of yours posted on ds_snippets or ds_flashfiction and I really loved it and want to read more of your stories, how would I do that?

Because as much as I might love you, I really don't want to wade through all of your journal entries to find your fic scattered through your journal like...something scattered. Apparently words fail me.

Please take a moment and look at how your fics are posted and organized and try to make it a little easier for readers.

I rushed home after work because I had an on-line meeting. Got home, found the box for my new monitor by the gate and wrestled it into the house. Yay new monitor! The other monitor (a two year old used 19" LCD) had finally started to give up the ghost so I splurged on a 22" one. Refurbed, but cheap.
